The
Benefits of Term Life Insurance
Nobody wants to think about a tragedy
occurring in the family, but it's still important to consider
the financial security of your loved ones should you pass away
prematurely.
If you are the primary breadwinner in a
family with dependents, you should seriously consider
purchasing a life insurance policy. In particularly, most
people find term life, as an effective way of both keeping
costs down while providing the coverage necessary in case of
death.
Many different types of life insurance
exist, but most financial experts will recommend
term life insurance over them all because they are
much more affordable. Term life insurance requires you to
pay premiums for a set period of time, say 30 years, and you
are covered for those 30 years if you are current on
payments and have not broken the policy.
Other insurance plans, last the duration of
your life or couple investments into your policy, like
variable or universal. The problem with these other policies
is that the premiums are generally much higher or your
investments are not as profitable because of the high
administrative fees.
Some might argue for whole life policies
because they provide protection for the span of your
entire life, not just 30 years or so. In other words,
your family is guaranteed a payout at some point.
While this is true, the significantly more
expensive premiums usually negate this financial benefit;
you are much better off saving the extra money and investing
it wisely. Also, most people only need life insurance into
their 60s or 70s, by which point they've accumulated enough
assets to retire and their family is not dependent on life
insurance.
By setting your insurance policy to end
around that age marker, you can be rest assured that through
either life insurance or your own retirement assets, your
family will be taken care of.
Whatever you do decide, it is
important to make sure that you've taken the steps necessary
to keep your family financially secure no matter
what the future brings.
By keeping these suggestions on hand, you
can make sure that your family photos become quality moments
worth savoring for years to come.
